Thank You for Supporting Our
First Annual 1736 Poker Classic
First Annual 1736 Poker Classic
1736 Family Crisis Center would like to thank everyone that participated in the First Annual 1736 Poker Classic on June 9, 2007 at the Commerce Casino. The wonderfully successful event could not have been possible without the kind support from our sponsors, donors, players, guests and dedicated volunteers.
A heartfelt thanks goes to generous sponsors: Commerce Casino, Toyota Financial Services, Southwest Airlines, World Poker Tour, CBS2/KCAL9, CBS Entertainment, Prestige Autotech Corporation, Relia-Tech, Creative Headliners, Wendi E. Knaak, D.C. and Playing Cards R Us. Our deepest appreciation goes to our Event Chairperson Leyna Nguyen and Committee Member Robert Steele for their leadership and dedication in making our first charity poker tournament such a success.
Special guests in attendance included: Actor/comedian Jason Alexander, WWE Wrestler Rey Mysterio, NFL Network host Rich Eisen, CBS2/KCAL9 reporters Rick Chambers and Josh Rubenstein, Nathan Morris from Boyz II Men, rapper Mad One, boxing coach Rob Garcia, director/writer/actor Brian Herskowitz, actress Gina Hecht, actress Pamela Bach Hasselhoff, actor Steve Howey, and the Los Angeles Clippers Girls.
We would also like to thank the following supporters who could not attend the event this year: Phil "The Unabomber" Laak, Jennifer Tilly, Francisco Bojado, Diego Sanchez, Los Angeles Clippers Cuttino Mobley and Shaun Livingston, Marshall Faulk, Candice Michelle, Tamiko Nash, Adam Ray, Brad Williams, and "Manny on the Streets."
Friends and families enjoyed an entertaining evening of wining, dining, poker, silent auctions, and many attendees went home with great raffle items and door prizes! Raffle and giveaways included: Nintendo Wii, Apple iPods, Nikon digital camera, portable DVD player, Los Angeles Dodger tickets, Phil Hellmuth Jr. poker set, gift certificates to restaurants and electronic stores, and much more!
The highlight of the evening was an actual hand dealt at the table: a royal flush. If this is any indication of the luck and prosperity of next year's tournament, we certainly hope that you will join us in the excitement! Please come back and check our website at www.1736fcc.org for more information on the Second Annual 1736 Poker Classic in 2008!
